The Terrapin TacTile Reader is a unique hands-on coding device that kids can use to control the Blue-Bot and Tuff-Bot robots. The TacTile Reader enables remote programming with no added complication of apps or tablets and makes coding a direct, hands-on experience.
Grades: PreK-2
Get to Know:
Kids can press the connect button to pair their robot with the TacTile Reader. Then, they can place individual tiles—each representing a specific command for their robot—sequentially on the TacTile Reader. When students press the Go button, they'll watch the robots move step-by-step through the program while the TacTile Reader lights up each command as the robot performs it. Want to change the program? Just switch the order of tiles and press Go.
The TacTile Reader combines the excitement of the Blue-Bot or Tuff-Bot with a concrete, hands-on immersion into coding. It holds as many as 10 tiles, so children can build programs up to 10 steps long. Up to three TacTile Readers can connect together with the included cable, so students can collaborate to build programs of up to 30 steps.
What's in the Box:
The TacTile Reader is rechargeable and it includes 25 command tiles. It's perfect for introducing remote programming without the complications of apps and tablets and makes coding a direct, hands-on experience.
