Here, you'll find video resources for enhancing many aspects of 21st century education. Coupled with context that helps teachers understand more fully, these videos are valuable for all. Whether it's recordings of webinars or our own original content, you can find it here. Highlighted in the Videos section is a recent series of webinars. Our team collaborated with some of our top EdTech partners to host quick broadcasts on key education topics in 2021. They include an array of topics, like integrating technology, finding your balance, and maximizing learning in different environments. You can find resources on using the Terrapin Robots, Ozobot Evo, micro:bit V2, RobotLAB VR system, and more. As digital learning has really exploded since 2020, we believe these videos serve as a quick way for educators to remain up to date.
Besides hosting webinars, we also enjoy utilizing this section of the blog for sharing our own thoughts. So many factors have gone in to the incorporation and evolution of Eduporium. So, for that reason, you'll also find some videos of our founders discussing these key topics. Have you ever wondered about the Eduporium mission, for example? We won't spoil that whole video but it does often center largely on providing equitable, accessible, and real-world learning experiences for today's students. Or, how do we determine which STEAM solutions we'll offer on our store? We have a video breaking down this whole decision-making process as well. We hope you enjoy these videos and encourage you to look through or share them with professional colleagues. Check back in the coming weeks as well as we aim to add more content to this collection.
With the Hummingbird Bit STEAM kits from BirdBrain, students are able to combine robotics, programming, art and design, and the micro:bit into one valuable learning experience. With the micro:bit board powering their robot builds, elementary and middle school students can get super creative with their design while coding and inventing in the classroom or after school.
We joined Robotical’s Head of North America, Hal Speed, to talk about the Marty Robot V2. Beginning with its basics, Hal demonstrated how you can get started with these different coding environments and, in the replay, you can learn to insert the battery, how to program your Marty V2 in unplugged mode, and how to access the Marty Robot app.
Since our mission is to get every student learning and exploring with technology, we know that we first need to make completely certain that every STEM tool on our store is useful to them. That’s why our team vets everything we recommend to educators, so they know it’s worthwhile for both them and their students as they work to prepare
Over the last couple months, we’ve teamed up with professionals from some of our top partners to bring educators a webinar series focused on addressing social-emotional learning and STEAM education. Throughout this time, we’ve worked with some great colleagues and, now that it’s wrapped up, we wanted to put all the resources in one place.
To wrap up our back-to-school STEAM and SEL webinar series, we partnered with our friends from the Ozobot Education team. Led by Melissa Toohey and Tara Reynen, we discussed the importance of CS education, creating SEL connections with the Ozobot Evo, and how the Ozobot Classroom LMS helps simplify coding instruction and prep work.
We were joined by iRobot’s Anna Elzer and Daniella Bonazzoli, who shared the iRobot story, including how, despite being known for the world-famous Roomba robot, every member of their organization is also committed to education. With help from the audience, they discussed the Root robots, the tech within them, creating SEL connections, and more.
Led by Nate Ubowski and Greg Rousos, learn how teachers can use the Sphero BOLT, RVR, and Mini for robotics lessons in remote learning. Going beyond the 4 C’s to spark curiosity and create a greater sense of community improvement, the presenters also covered how Sphero’s robots allow for efficient STEAM instruction.
Our webinars have been well attended so far starting with the Ozobot broadcast last December. We’re very grateful for the efforts of our partners and, now, we’re looking to expand these broadcasts. Head inside to cast your vote for what you want us to cover next as we work to expand our webinar series this spring.
In our latest webinar, we were joined by Katie Henry, micro:bit’s Head of Partner Engagement, and Diane Horvath, a technology specialist. The pair discussed many of the educational possibilities when it comes to using the micro:bit in the classroom and attendees from around the world joined in and contributed to the great discussion.
