In the News & Updates section of our blog, you'll find updates on many of the latest STEM developments. These include happenings from the STEM and MakerEd worlds as well as important Eduporium announcements. This is where we'll share updates on product additions, announce the recipients of our monthly educational technology grant, pass on company news, highlight upcoming events, and discuss a whole lot more when it comes to cool topics in STEM education. Beyond our STEAM coverage, we also touch on various elements of 21st century learning. These include remote instruction, special education, social-emotional learning, and equity and diversity. If it's happening in the world of education, we're interested. And, we'll offer our analysis on what's affecting students, teachers, and administrators, attaching our genuine thoughts to keep you updated.
This is an area for us to keep a repository of recent happenings. As time has gone on, we've participated in more STEAM and makerspace events. So, we've started to keep curated collections of those experiences. As Eduporium continues to expand and we get to participate in more STEM education projects with educators in some of the country's biggest school districts, we'll share those stories, too. We hope our collective accomplishments and partnerships with members of the K–12 community inspire others to innovate in new ways!
Eduporium, a one-stop STEM and Educational Technology solutions provider for teachers has been added to the PEPPM 2018 General Hardware and Software Catalog Contract. Cubelets and STEM education just kind of go together. Already awesome at exposing super young students to engineering and programming, the addition of the Cubelets Classroom Packs have added a renewed focus on collaboration! All their kits allow educators to combine coding and engineering in the classroom.
Designed to provide students in second, fourth, and fifth grade with some innovative learning opportunities, teachers were thrilled to use the bundles of new technologies in their classrooms thanks to donations from our team and some of our premier manufacturer partners, including Ozobot, Sphero, Modular Robotics, Microbric, and E-Blox and the results are in!
After six weeks of using various STEM tools in their learning, students will be in the spotlight in less than two weeks, so we thought we’d check in and see how things have been going! Last Friday, we visited six different elementary school classrooms, where students were using different STEM tools—click to see how it went!
Collaboratively created by the Eduporium and Highlander teams, the super unique program has allowed children within three Rhode Island elementary schools to use new STEAM tools in their classrooms. Those technologies? A lot of them were generously donated to these educators by our partners from Ozobot, Modular Robotics, Sphero, E-Blox, and Microbric.
Among the newest STEM tools added to our store is the Airblock drone from Makeblock, an exceptional way for students to explore aviation and dive into long-lasting innovation. They don’t even need any prior coding experience to learn with Airblock—just an eye for exploration and the desire to take charge of their learning!
There are robotics tools designed for classroom use and then there are the ROBOTIS robotics kits, which are all designed for serious STEAM learning. What makes these different? Well, they’re not just for breaking the ice and introducing robotics to students while they’re at a young age. Many of the ROBOTIS kits are designed specifically for high school students.
Snap Circuits’ compact, classroom-friendly kits allow educators to introduce key STEM ideas, like electricity, motion, and environmentalism while students play. Talk about a win-win situation. In our first year of attending the ISTE Conference last summer, we learned a lot about this event, its attendees, the atmosphere, and what it takes to have a successful trip. Now, we want to take things a step further and help the educators who come from all over the world on another level. We want to be part of
E-Blox, as their name implies, are electronic building blocks—almost exactly like LEGOs—except they’re conductive! Kids can enhance their design and engineering skills and also get more familiar with electronics at the same time.
