In the webinar, a lot is covered and we hope there is some helpful information for what you need when it comes to coding education in remote learning. Thanks to how it’s evolved along with the emergence of the Ozobot Classroom learning management system, teachers and students have been able to continue making use of this STEAM solution.

While it’s not the environment we’d all want to be using the databot in, this post paints a prime picture of how the databot is adaptable in almost every learning situation! Keep on reading to learn more about how teachers have found success using this data-collecting bot in different learning scenarios and with their students of all different ages.

Both STEAM tools combine various elements of engineering and coding in what they offer to students. These robots are buildable, too, which enables students to explore engineering as they work to figure out how to build the bots correctly. Once they’re built, children can work on programming them whether they’re at home or in the classroom.

At first, we were very hesitant to continue with promoting classroom packs since they contain a lot of moving parts and promote learning that involves children all touching those same components. Over time, however, various manufacturers have actually created home learning versions and that idea of classroom packs in remote or hybrid learning is no longer as daunting.

This week, we thought it would be fun to highlight five more of our favorite tech tools for helping to bring STEM learning experiences to students who are taking part in full remote or hybrid learning to start out the school year. With help from our vendor partners, we’ve been working hard to make sure educators know how to adapt the tech tools they consistently rely on in the classroom into a home learning solution. Each one is different, but the opportunities to include STEM experiences, like coding, engineering, and design, in distance learning are there.

Like so many teachers, students, parents, and administrators, we’re uncertain about what this school year will bring, especially as school doors slowly start to reopen. Whether learning is going to be taking place in person, at home, or as part of a hybrid model, we know that we couldn’t let STEM learning opportunities fall by the wayside.

Like fellow members of the education world, we’ve realized there’s a bit more to educating the whole child than simply ensuring they have a strong foundational background in STEM. As the school year begins, STEM remains important, but we’re also committed to ensuring students have the chance to focus on social-emotional restoration. 

Despite so much uncertainty, there’s one thing we know for sure: We don’t want students to veer off course in terms of STEM and real-world skills development, so we’ve been working on creating custom STEAM kits that can be used to help educators teach key topics, allow students to work independently, and are conducive to different environments.

We’re putting together this running collection of remote learning resources for educators to explore during school closures caused by the coronavirus.
