Did you catch us in Boston this past Friday? Or were you lucky enough to be at AASL 2017 in Arizona last weekend? If you were, hopefully you stopped by to visit us. If not, don't worry. There will be plenty more opportunities to see our booth in person the rest of the year. More on that later, but first let's tell you about our latest events.
Another week and another list of high-profile conferences and shows for us at Eduporium. Luckily (for some of us), we made one very local appearance while a couple of our team members traveled from Boston to Phoenix. We exhibited at some well-known events and met some innovative and enthusiastic educators at Learning and the Brain's Merging Minds and Technology Conference in Boston and the American Association of School Libraries 2017 Conference in Arizona!
Last Friday, we were invited by Learning and the Brain to their Merging Minds and Technology Conference in Boston's Back Bay. The weekend-long event drew STEM teachers from all over the country and even some international educators as well! Our booths (above and below) were in the busy lobby, where crowds could be found gathering during breaks between sessions. We were the only vendors down there and very much enjoyed the opportunity to interact with teachers from so many different places while showing off the best EdTech we have to offer, including our top robotics options, VR, and newest 3D printing pen! Although we were there for just one day, it was very successful and we would like to thank both the Westin Copley and Learning and the Brain for having us!
Learning and the Brain is actually a very well-known organization with plenty of national exposure as we saw first hand. Educators from all across the country and from Canada and Europe as well were in attendance. Unfortunately, we were only able to exhibit on one of the three days, but it was amazing to see the amount of interest the event generated. We're also happy that this particular conference took place so close to us and would love to be at the next one in Chicago if we could!
Meanwhile, our other exhibitor team landed in Phoenix last Thursday and began setting up at what's perhaps the most widely attended annual conference for school librarians. Hosted by the American Association of School Libraries, AASL '17 served as the 18th edition of the national conference and featured hundreds of innovative vendors and presenters over the three days. Once again, our booth was a popular place as we illustrated how school librarians can use STEM tools to enliven their library or transform it into a makerspace! Everybody was great, including the AASL staff and the team at the Phoenix Convention Center. Thank you to everyone who was involved and we hope to be back again for the next one in 2019!
As you may or may not know, the AASL is a huge entity and boasts a very well-known, nationwide presence. If you're familiar with the ISTE Conference, think of the AASL Conference as the ISTE Conference of school libraries and librarians. They are constantly helping these educators integrate new tools in their libraries and figuring out ways to make the most of the tools they have always had. AASL has tens of thousands of followers, many of whom attend their various conferences every year, including this one, which takes place every other year. It was our first time attending and we would have to say it is quite similar to ISTE in terms of layout, size, and hype—as well as awesomeness!
We will also be at the NYSCATE Annual Conference in Rochester, NY this coming weekend, the Christa McAuliffe Technology Conference in Manchester, NH after Thanksgiving, and the NAMTC Leadership Summit in San Antonio at the end of November. If you happen to be at any of these events as well, come find our booth and learn how we can help get innovative technology in your school, library, or makerspace!
