It's hard to believe that this time last week we were powering through a long day with aching feet before enjoying some margaritas along San Antonio's famous river walk. We attended our first national ISTE conference last week and learned a lot along the way. Like just how many people were there, for instance. The size and scope of ISTE are both incredible and it's really impossible to quantify how far our message has reached, but there are some other findings we can put into numbers.
19: Nineteen of our vendor partners were also present at ISTE, including littleBits, Primo, Makeblock, and more!
24: The Eduporium staff boarded 24 different planes to get to and from San Antonio.
34: The exhibit hall featured 34 jam-packed rows of vendors, EdTech companies, and other exhibitors.
48: All tolled, we gave away 48 different pieces of EdTech to a number of different winners.
70: There were over 70 countries represented at ISTE 2017, including a great deal of participants from Mexico, Canada, and China, truly embracing the 'I' in ISTE.
287: We had 287 unique entries for our raffles alone.
356: Just 356 days until ISTE 2018 kicks off in Chicago!
549: The expo hall featured something like 549 different booths, tables, classrooms, store fronts, and even an RV to serve as exhibition space for the conference's many vendors.
1,454: ISTE 2017 featured 1,454 sessions, including some pre-conference events.
2,000: Eduporium gave away over $2,000 worth of EdTech to teachers and ISTE attendees, including three grand prize tech bundles valued at approximately $500 each!
2,370: There were 2,370 different presenters who took the stage at ISTE 2017.
4,086: We traveled an estimated 4,086 miles to San Antonio and back to Boston.
6,300: There were approximately 6,300 seats set up at the opening keynote and that still wasn't enough. We had to watch it from the presenter's lounge, ourselves.
8,000: Over 8,000 schools and organizations were represented at ISTE 2017, an incredible number and one that only looks to go up next year.
21,000: ISTE 2017 was the biggest one yet with an estimated 21,000 teachers, administrators, tech directors, students, and other attendees making their way through the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center over the 3-day event.
207,000: There were approximately 207,000 tweets published about ISTE 2017 through July 5, according to Education Week.
We also ate a large amount of Mexican food, but forgot to weigh it, so we can't report exactly how much unfortunately. What we can say (again) is that ISTE 2017 was incredible and we hope to be there again next year!
