As we close the book on 2018 and look forward to 2019, we’re extremely thankful for the community of educators we continue to build. Whether it’s by appearing at educational conferences or events or through our social media initiatives, we’re proud of the community of educators you’ve helped us build! Our following continues to grow and we like to think that we’ve made an impact on the professional lives of teachers with the content we post on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. So, with that being said, we thought we’d take a look at the most popular social media posts we put out this year and thank you once again for helping to make our social media influence possible! Happy New Year!
# 5: Coding, Women in Tech, and Breaking the Glass Ceiling
We’re big on inspiring more girls to pursue STEM during their elementary, middle, and high school years, so we’re pretty excited that our fifth most popular tweet of the year had to do with just that. With 5,374 impressions since its posting way back on Jan. 22, this was certainly a tweet that aged well. More important than its success, we’re glad with the message it sends to both teachers and students.
# 4: 4 Keys to Create a Successful Makerspace in Your Library
We may have shared this link more than once this past year, but who could blame us? It’s a great article with so many useful tidbits for innovative educating and teaching with cool materials. Sharing it on April 22, it racked up 7,153 impressions, including 13 retweets and 20 likes. It details the successful transformation of a school library into a fully functional and interactive idea lab complete with plenty of suggestions for educators about what worked and what could have been done better.
# 3: Eduporium Teacher of the Month
Back during the summer months, we were looking for innovative educators to feature as part of our upcoming (and now successful) Teacher of the Month blog series. In putting the word out, we received a lot of interest from both teachers who were interested in nominating themselves and others. This tweet from Aug. 10 registered 9,869 impressions and we’re pretty sure it got some great teachers to reach out to us to be featured. We’ve highlighted a teacher every month since then, which you can see on our blog here!
# 2: Announcing the Release of the BOLT Robot
Back in September, we were fortunate to be able to add the new BOLT Robot from Sphero to our store the same day they did. One of our first official Twitter posts about the new bot from Sept. 24 gained a bunch of traction on our page. With 10,065 impressions to date, this was our second most viewed tweet of 2018. We continue to enjoy having Sphero as a partner and look forward to even more innovative STEM opportunities using the BOLT, the Sphero SPRK+, and the Sphero Mini in 2019!
# 1: Eduporium Launching EdTech Grant Program
This was perhaps the most important thing we were a part of in 2018, so it’s only fitting that it brought us our most viewed tweet of the year! Also during the summer, we announced the beginning of our $500 monthly EdTech grant program with a tweet that got a lot of traction. The tweet from June 4 amassed 20,246 impressions and over 200 combined likes and retweets. Like with our Teacher of the Month initiative, we’re thankful for the power of social media to inform deserving educators of this opportunity.
As a start-up company, we rely on the power of social media to help get the word out about new EdTech tools, new offerings, our Educator Discount program, and other innovative services we provide for teachers and schools. As we continue to grow on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, we look forward to being able to amplify our message even more in 2019! Next up? 50,000 followers on Twitter—help us get there before 2020! Finally, we wish everybody a Happy Holiday Season and Happy New Year!
