Eduporium co-founder, president, and CEO, Rick Fredkin has spent almost his entire life living in Brookline, MA. Recently, he, his wife, and his two children took part in a march for equality and an end to racism. For Rick, participating provided a great teaching opportunity for him and learning opportunity for his young children. It also took on even greater significance as we continue to take pride in being a certified Minority Business Enterprise. After the BLM march, Rick spoke with a reporter from the Boston Business Journal, who published the interview this week.

Besides taking part in this in-person BLM demonstration, Rick has also led conversations in the virtual office space with members of the Eduporium team. Our team has been brainstorming how we can help stop systemic oppression and amplify Black voices. “I really feel good about this because it’s a conversation lots of people wanted to have and I’m happy to engage in it and go through what we are doing as a business. It's a good first step for underrepresented communities, under privileged communities, and Black communities,” he said. Though acknowledging it’s a tough subject, Rick also mentioned educating his children and represented everybody at Eduporium at the rally.
