The Eduporium team is excited to share that we’ve received an award from the Massachusetts Workforce Training Fund Program (WTFP). The state’s Office for Labor and Workforce Development announced each of the grant’s recipients late last week and we are truly excited to receive a share of the funds. Overall, the Commonwealth awarded over $10M in aid to companies around the state—money that will help train over 6,500 workers in various competencies. As for how the grant will help us, keep reading to learn more!

At Eduporium, we recently all took part in a company-wide exercise of emotional intelligence. There have been two sets of training sessions so far with additional instruction to take place at a later date. The money we received from the WTFP helped us fund this training, which we’ve applied in our day-to-day operations. We received one of the 96 total grants, which were spread out among 133 companies around the state.

This workforce training is unique, focusing on creating and maintaining various successful relationships in the workplace and using various models of emotional intelligence as the basis for doing so. Ultimately, the goals of the WFTP are to promote job growth across Massachusetts, which we're hoping to accomplish as well. We received $15,400 for our employees to take part in these trainings and plan to add three positions by 2021. Other companies who received funding got awards of anywhere from $10,000 to $250,000.

“The Workforce Training Fund Program empowers Massachusetts businesses to undertake the same kind of critical upskilling we have seen companies invest in over the past year,” said Governor, Charlie Baker at the announcement ceremony this past week in Brockton. From Stockbridge to Provincetown, these grants are going to be able to help small and medium businesses grow. Then, they can better align their missions with the state of the economy and needs of workers. It goes without saying, but we're extremely grateful for the funding and will continue to help our team grow.
