As what seems like the overwhelming majority of teachers and students are transitioning to some form of distance learning, we're continuously here to offer support—both from our team and from our partners. As you know, everybody is doing their part to pull together resources for remote learning and that includes the companies whose STEM tools we sell on our store. Whether it's at-home project ideas, best practices webinars, or tips for cleaning, we want to keep the learning going as best we can!
Below, we’ve compiled a list of relevant resources from some of our major educational partners, including Sphero, iRobot, Wonder Workshop, Ozobot, and more. In an effort to keep learning as exciting and productive as possible, we’re sharing these along with continuing to update our live distance learning blog. We encourage you to check out some of these resources and feel free to share any others you have with us on Twitter. Thank you to our partners for making sure students and teachers have access to tools to continue learning and teaching from home!
Ozobot
Ozobot has provided a robot cleaning guide for educators teaching with the Evo. They also have a few PD webinars available on their YouTube channel and have provided a guide to using Ozobot Classroom for teachers to review while out of the classroom.
Wonder Workshop
Aside from using Wonder Workshop's Class Connect platform to manage student progress in coding, Wonder Workshop also offered their tips for cleaning the Dash and Cue Robots. Pictured below, it includes helpful guidelines, including cleaning products to use and a reminder to be gentle.
Root Robot
Our partners at iRobot Education (creators of the Root robot) have made their paid content accessible to all students learning from home for the time being. Online and offline Root coding activities are available and iRobot Education hosted live office hours with distance learning tips during a live webinar.
3Doodler
3Doodler has published an in-depth guide of learn from home lessons as well as tips for cleaning the pens. This resource includes 3D printing projects that students in all grade levels can complete as well as a variety of ways you can keep the pen clean!
Cubelets
Cubelets is helping parents and teachers stay committed to making by offering their advice for creating a makerspace at home! Whether you have tech tools or not, household items can be repurposed for inventing and, if learning with Cubelets, here's some tips for cleaning.
Makey Makey
Makey Makey has provided tips for parents home with kids to boost morale by staying creative. The post includes inspiration for building a homemade Rube Goldberg machine to share on social media—challenging kids to invent with whatever materials they have!
While we don't know how long school closures will persist in many areas and some educators have already been told they won't be returning this year, it's important to rely on the professional learning communities we've built for support in whatever type of distance learning works best! If you're in need of additional resources, we encourage you to check out our live blog with regular updates about remote learning webinars that are now constantly happening! If you have questions about distance learning approaches, we encourage you to reach out to our team.
